Ways to catch pike on live bait

Pike fishing is one of the most common hunts for predatory fish. Pike is the most famous, furious and strongest of all underwater predators in central Russia. And so a lot of gear was invented for her. But there is probably no more reliable snag for this predator than an ordinary live fish on a hook. The rig of the live bait fishing rod is quite simple and consists of a strong fishing rod equipped with rings and an inertia-free reel, a large sliding float, a sinker and a leash with a hook. Better to put a monofilament. There will be less confusion. A sliding float will give castings greater accuracy, especially in windy weather. After casting, the float floats and rests against the restriction bead on the fishing line, fixed to the desired depth. Usually, a pike is caught, letting live bait at the bottom or at half-water, if the bottom is stony.

Live bait is planted, hooking it in the back under the dorsal fin or under the dorsal fin and at the same time for the lip. For this purpose, something like a tackle is made on a leash, where a single hook in front is hooked onto the live bait lip, and a second hook, double or triple, is hooked onto the fin. If fishing occurs on the course, and not in still water, it is better to hook the bait fish by the hook on the lip, otherwise it will spin on the course, like an airplane propeller.

Fishing for pike on a live bait rod is very similar to running spinning fishing.

You also have to wander along the riverbank and look for more and more new holes and sites of a predator. But unlike spinning on a bait fishing rod, you can catch it on very small forest rivers, overgrown with grass, covered with snags and covered with trees lying across, rich in a rather large pike, although, of course, the so-called “tweezers” or “shoelaces” weighing up to kilograms. In such places, the spinning rod has nowhere to turn around, it is impossible to draw the bait. Only if you rinse the lure almost in the winter version. Here is just the place of bait fishing rod. A fish on a hook can be carefully thrown using a fishing rod into a small whirlpool among grass and snags and, looking at a large float, eagerly wait for a pike bite. After catching one pike, you can not wait for the next bite, but move on along the river. In the whale where the pike was caught, there was hardly another fish. The hunting area is too small. Better to look for a fresh place.

The fixed coastal vents on a small river are even more effective than live bait fishing rods

They can be put on several whales and in other places attractive to pike. If you fasten a feeder bell on the top of the pole, then the pike's grip will be heard on a quiet forest river even because of a turn, because when the pike grabs live bait on a hook, the attack can be decisive and furious. The six bends and whips on the water with the apex, and the bite signaling device will ring the whole river.

The gear is simple. As a necklace, you can use a reel from a winter necklace without a coil like Aelit or Akara brand, unfastening the reel directly with a flag and hanging it with snap on the top of the pole. A checkbox will also signal a bite. If the tackle is within sight, then such an indicator will be enough. And distant zergolitsa will signal, if that, by the rattle of a feeder bells. You can hang on the poles the usual flyer-flyer with which you catch a pike, exposing gear from a boat near aquatic vegetation. Six girders can be fixed on the shore, as usual for a long time float rods were fastened, that is, with the help of rogulins and anti-gulls. Only for poles it is necessary to select more powerful flyers than for a float rod.

There is one more type of girder-deliveries, which can be called "secretive"

It is no secret that thieving fishermen-fishers sometimes can not pass by the exposed gear. Not all, of course, but there are also such as in everyday life. Therefore, if it is necessary to leave the tackle overnight in the water so that a predator takes it at dawn, then you can throw lively donks by masking the line in the grass. And if you have a boat, it’s easy to make secretive zerglihoods by hanging flyers with accessories or ordinary plastic reels from under the fishing line on sedge bunches, also securing a second beam. Although this is just a sedge or reed, but the beam does not tear off by any effort.
