Oven baked pike with potatoes

So today on the table is pike baked with potatoes in the oven. Here, tasty juicy fish, and soft, soaked potatoes flowing down from her juices. Foil cooking helps speed up the process and preserves all the flavors as much as possible. And another secret is adding butter to the fish, which gives the meat extra tenderness. The recipe is basic, you can take any vegetables. Great carrots, pumpkin, zucchini. So experiment.

Ingredients for Pike Roasting:

  • pike 400 g
  • potatoes 4 pcs
  • onion 1 pc
  • salt, ground pepper a pinch
  • butter 30 g

The procedure for cooking pike

Prepare everything you need. First clean the fish from the outside, then open the abdomen, remove the insides, and rinse well under running water. Peel the potato and onion. Grate the pike with a mixture of salt and black pepper. Leave overnight in the refrigerator, so the meat is better salted. If there is no time, you can proceed to the next step.

Cut the potatoes into thin petals.

Take foil, unfold on a baking sheet, grease with a piece of butter. Place the potatoes in 2-3 layers. Putting a lot is not worth it, otherwise it may not have time to get ready.

Cut the onion into quarters or cubes, the size does not really matter. Add a little salt and spices, mix.

Place the pike on top of the potatoes, put the onion stuffing in the abdomen.

Cut the butter into thin slices and place on the fish.

Unwind the second layer of foil from above, wrap it well around the edges. It should be a big envelope.

Put the baking sheet in the oven, heated to 200 degrees and cook for half an hour. Then get out and let stand, without opening, another 10 minutes. If you try to open the envelope immediately, you can burn yourself with the escaping steam.

Serve hot.
