How to catch a chekhon on an elastic band (donka with a rubber shock absorber). How to collect gum? How is the process of catching sabrefish on a donk-gum?
Catching a sabrefish donkey with a rubber shock absorber is considered a fun activity. Fishing is prey, of course, provided that Chekhon goes. When the course of this fish is in full swing, the fisherman often waits after the first poke in his hand, when two or three more bites follow and only then takes out the tackle from the water. On a fishing line will be silver, and several fish flutter at once. Chekhon never feeds alone. This is a school of fish. And in a good bite to the fisherman himself, sometimes there is no time to eat.
! In the spring, usually the largest rubber boot comes across. And fishing in this period is also the most intense. But you should look at the rules, which in each region of Russia have their own characteristics. Somewhere, spring fishing for sabrefish may be prohibited. Although, in general, the rules for fishing in the spring are as follows: it is allowed to fish from the shore on a float fishing rod or donkey with no more than two hooks. Gum also falls under the definition of donka. Its full name is Donka with a rubber shock absorber. But, if in the summer you can put up to ten hooks on the undergrowth of the gum, then in the spring, it turns out, a maximum of two.
Donka with rubber shock absorber for chekhony
The gear is a three-piece construction.
The first part is the stock of the main fishing line on the reel.
The second part is the undergrowth with leashes.
The third part is a rubber shock absorber that is attached to the load.
All three parts are best made removable, that is, to connect them use fasteners with swivels. This will help to quickly replace some parts. In addition, it is better to store all parts of the gum separately. There will be less confusion when preparing the gum for fishing.
An elastic band is a donk only if a sinker is attached to the undergrowth at the very beginning. Then you can catch any fish with a rubber shock absorber, but for the most part crucian carp are caught on ponds with this rubber band. But for fishing sabrefish loading gear is not required. This fish is kept in the middle and surface layers of water. Therefore, the tackle looks like it is presented in a classic form.
The process of catching chekhony on an elastic band
Catching chekhony on an elastic band is quite dynamic fishing and for the most part the process looks like this: the angler stands on the shore or in the water on the spit and from time to time makes smooth jerks towards the shore. At this time, bait hooks also move, either floating to the surface or falling to the bottom. Usually used hooks with a light coating, most often nickel-plated. They gleam in the water, like little silver mormyshki or micro-spinners. This attracts the sabrefish, which is a real predator. A large chekhon is not averse to a bite. Therefore, it is caught and spinning. And when fishing with an elastic band use methods similar to twitching.
Tackle looks like this.
For rubber shock absorbers, durable round rubber is usually used. Sometimes they put double rubber, made of the same round rubber. This increases the strength of the shock absorber. The length of the rubber shock absorber usually does not exceed 10-12 meters . This is enough to deliver cargo on a boat 50-60 meters from the coast . Usually, to secure, the cargo is equipped with a buoy, so that when the gum breaks, it is possible to lift the cargo from the bottom and repair the tackle. Also, the rubber is equipped with a safety cord, for which you can pull the load. But the tackle becomes more cumbersome. Therefore, the safety cord is often used when throwing gum from the shore with your hand, that is, the cargo is thrown, and not delivered by boat. In this case, the location of the hooks will be much closer to the shore. And this method of loading cargo is more suitable for a small river and a pond. In this case, the rubber shock absorber is shortened to 5 meters .
And now about preparing the gum for catching chekhony
First, the rubber shock absorber is fixed on the shore with a loop at the beginning of the undergrowth, worn on a peg stuck into the shore.
Then the cargo is delivered by boat to an almost critical tension on the rubber, which is noticeable by the way it whitens and thins. The cargo with a buoy sinks to the bottom.
Then an undergrowth with leashes is laid out on the shore. Worms or maggots are planted on hooks.
Then the undergrowth is carefully released into the water, making sure that the fishing line does not slip out and the hook is not hit.
After the main fishing line begins to weaken, this will be a signal that the hooks with the bait are in the starting position.
After that, the fishing line is held in hands, making pulls and waiting for the approach of the sabrefish.
