Is it possible to feed predatory fish. The article tells the story of how I sometimes feed a predator.
Fishermen are well aware that one of the conditions for successful fishing is bait. Indeed, if we compare the fishing performance of two participants, one of which uses bait, and the second does not, then the catch of the fisherman who fed the fish will be significantly greater.
A lot of books have been written about bait, also L.P. Sabaneev focused on this. Indeed, if you follow the logic, then everything falls into place. The bait placed in water gives off an odor attractive to the fish; the fish, following instinct, rush for food. If you constantly feed the same place, and do it, best of all, at the same time of the day, observe the same type of all actions, in some cases the fish can develop a bait reflex and some other irritant, for example, the sound of a bell. This is a scientifically proven fact. But now I will not go into details of physiology and nervous activity. I just wanted to tell a story, as I decided to feed perch and pike. Yes, that's right - to feed and attract a predator.
In fact, this idea is not new, and many have done this before me. For example, it is known that you can attract a flock of perch if you feed the bleak and other fish fry. The same story with pike. I myself sometimes caught roach, fed a place on the river, and after a while I noticed that it was on the feeding territory that the predator became noticeably more active. It was then that the idea arose to purposefully feed a predator. Looking ahead, I’ll say that everything worked out, and today I periodically use this method. If you are planning to make a bait for predatory fish, you need to understand that the front of feeding should be much wider and larger than when fishing for peaceful fish, in addition, the usual bait here is not entirely suitable, although I use it. As a result of numerous trial and error, I determined for myself the following composition of bait for perch (I will give the composition in terms of the ratio of ingredients):
1. Feed bloodworm - 5 parts (I buy it on the market, it is intended for feeding aquarium fish), read about how to get ordinary bloodworms
2. Worms - the more worms there are, the more successful will be the bait. I chop the worms into pieces and mix with the bloodworm.
3. Bait for peaceful fish - 1-2 parts
4. Sand, clay or earth - 4-5 parts
5. Oil or drops to attract fish
All components of the bait for predators must be thoroughly mixed and small areas to feed the vast territory. It is clear that such a bait for a predator will need about 10 liter bucket to feed a plot of 20-100 meters. And many fishermen do not go for it, as perch can be caught without any bait. But I fell into such fishing conditions that it was the bait (as I think) that allowed me to stay with the catch. I feed a large stretch of water (perch) once. Odorous substances, bloodworms and worms attract striped from afar, in addition, peaceful fish will not refuse such bait. As a result, a peculiar “fish market” is created over a large area, which the predator also looks at. It remains only to catch him.
On the pike, the bait is prepared in about the same way, but I necessarily add meat and bone meal, dry blood, and sometimes pieces of caught fish (for example, a hot melt). Sometimes, when there is a goal to feed the pike, I specifically catch from several carp rodents, cut their fins and release them back into the pond. The main thing here is without fanaticism. Do not immediately catch a dozen fish and injure them, 3-5 copies are enough. The wounded fish will eventually be attacked by a pike, there is no doubt about it. But pike develops attachment to a place, and in the future it can be successfully caught.
These are simple rules for predator bait. The method for our country is not entirely popular, has not yet received distribution, but it is quite working and interesting .
So try all the best to you.
