Side fishing

Spring time, although it is a transition period between the season of ice and open water, but, nevertheless, the fish does not stop feeding in this period. The bream and ide ides for feeding are, of course, not as active as during the summer period, but sometimes, in good weather, the spring ide is well taken by bottom fishing rods and the feeder. Most often, on-board rods are used for such fishing.

Bottom fishing conditions

For effective catching of spring ide and bream on board donkeys, weather is needed with normal and even atmospheric pressure, which has not changed for five to six days. This is often one of the main conditions for successful fishing. With drops from rainy slush to unexpected frost, when not only a braided cord but also monofilament fishing line begins to turn frost, fishing, most likely, will fail. Well, it’s clear that the north and east winds strongly and negatively affect the activity of fish, although it would seem, what difference does it make in water?

During cold water, the deepest places are chosen for bottom fishing on side fishing rods, but not wintering pits, where the depth can reach 10 meters, but deep edge-differences of 5-6 meters.

Tackle

For a long time on the Volga, the so-called “ringing” was considered the most successful tackle, where a heavy feeder was directly connected to the equipment using a strong nylon cord. A heavy lead ring, which was put on the feeder’s cord, served as the sliding sinker of the equipment. The success of the tackle was that the bait hooks were always in the bait stream.

Now many have abandoned the "ringing", considering it almost poaching for success, someone continues to catch and enjoy the catches. After all, tackle is not prohibited. But the “ring” has one annoying drawback: during a weak current, the leashes are often overwhelmed by the feeder. Therefore, many anglers with the advent of the English donkey began to modernize the side donkeys, introducing feeder elements into them - a feeder, and someone and a quartervert, setting the softest tip on the whip of the side fishing rod.

Onboard bottom fishing line equipment

For fishing in a strong current, a heavy feeder feeder weighing up to 250 grams for a strong current is required and a strong side rod is desirable with a whip, on which there is a place for installing a gatehouse. The nod of the gatehouse is most often made of a flat metal spring, at the end of which a plastic or foam ball is painted, painted in a bright color. A wire arch is attached below so that you can hang the bell. Feeder bells are also used now as a bite signaling device.

The reel can be either wired, which are used in the equipment of telescopic rods, or inertialess. In the first version of the equipment, the reel is used only for winding fishing line, and fish are caught by the fishing line. And here there are pitfalls ... The fishing line, sloppy dumped to the bottom of the boat, often gets confused. Therefore, catching with inertia will be easier and faster. But at the same time, ordinary inertial reels are quite successfully used for fishing on board donks.

For fishing on side fishing rods, it is best to use a braided line, because fishing occurs in a strong current, where monofilament fishing line will be too stretched and sail. She has a great extensibility. The braid, on the other hand, is a fishing line that has absolutely no elasticity and, as if cutting oncoming water jets. In addition, at great depths and currents, the braided cord more accurately and sensitively shows the bite. A cord thickness of 0.15-0.17 mm will be enough for a massive feeder and resistance to flow.

Leashes are best made from monofilament fishing line with a diameter of 0.2 mm. The leash length is quite significant and depends on the activity of the fish. With good bite, a leash 0.7-1.0 m long is also enough. For catching inactive fish, they do something like an approach where the length of the main leash of the undergrowth is about 3 m, and 3-4 short leashes with hooks No. 8-6 of international numbering are attached on it.

Bait and bait

In the spring, bloodworms are often used as bait. But it is better not to attach it to a hook for catching large fish, but to tie it in bundles with the help of special devices. So he will live longer, and maintain a bright color. One or two maggot maggots are planted to the bloodworm. But the all-season worm is already in use. Often the ide is very willing to take on a steep semolina, in which to catch on a strong current, cotton wool is added so that the porridge keeps on the hook better.

For early spring, winter baits are also used, in which bloodworms and maggot are added.
