White rubber on a light jig head

Report on fishing for pike spinning from a boat. White rubber on a jig head, catchy bait for July pike. Venue - Chelbas River, Krasnodar Territory. Catch - 8 pikes.

Our pike in Chelbas in July is sluggish, moody. It’s all because of the heat: the water in the river, like fresh milk, is also cloudy due to the violent growth of algae. Oxygen is not enough for fish. What kind of activity is there when there is nothing to breathe. But if you choose the right fishing time and guess with the bait, there are chances to catch a “toothy” one.

When is the best time to go fishing?

According to my observations, the best time for catching pike in the summer is early morning (from 4 to 8 o’clock). While the morning coolness is above the river, the predator feeds, but as soon as the sun starts to bake, the bite ceases. At the evening dawn, “toothy” is also caught, but not large, most often comes across 300-gram “pencils”.

It makes sense to go fishing on cloudy days. When the sky is cloudy, it periodically rains, appetite wakes up at the pike, especially in windy weather. But if it rained heavily on the eve of fishing at night, then in the morning it is better not to go to the river at all: it’s a “sub park”, the fish is sick and not caught. Even the ubiquitous crucian and he refuses to peck, not to mention the predator.

Catching pikes on a spinning boat (description of my fishing)

The morning was quiet. When I sailed from the shore in my small wooden boat, a dawn just lit up in the sky. Beauty - not to convey! You watch how a new day is born, and the soul rejoices. At such moments, I begin to understand Prince Vladimir the Red Sun, whom the sunrise never made sleeping.

Like any angler, I have favorites among my lures. This is a Malas wobbler, a yellow-green color with black dots on the sides, a 15-gram “oscillator” resembling an atom in shape, and large unloaded rubber of various colors. I took my “favorites” out of the box and, anticipating a good bite, sent the boat to the middle of the river.

It’s easiest to look for an active pike with iron. Heavy spinners fly far, thanks to strong glare from the flat side surfaces are clearly visible in the water, have a sweeping game. That’s why I started fishing with the “oscillator”. He adhered to the following tactics: made a dozen casts around the boat, if there was no result, swam to a new place.

Alas, the iron baubles soon had to be abandoned due to the algae that had greatly grown in the river. What is not cast, then a bunch of grass on a hook. Where does it fit ">

And then I offered her a white “rubber” for breakfast. He put on a milky-colored vibrotail with a green tail on a 2-gram jig-head. What started here! Almost on every post - exit, hit, productive bite!

I took 8 pikes from one place at once: 4 small (let go) and 4 credits, in the region of 600-800 grams. The wiring was uniform and not very fast. Grass hooks sometimes happened, but not deaf. Still, a single hook is not a tee. Surprisingly, pikes hooked securely. There was only one descent, the other “toothy” point pierced the upper jaw through and through, and I with effort pulled it out of there.

For some 20 minutes, pikes, like hungry dogs, tore poor silicone fish. Unfortunately, I only had 3 vibratory tails. When only lumps were left of the catching lures, I tried to catch similar rubber - in vain. It seems that the color did not differ much, and the form, however, there were no more bites that morning.

Excellent bite on the white "rubber" - an accident or not ">

This is the kind of experience I got in July fishing and I am happy to share it with you, dear fishermen. Good luck on the ponds!
