Behind a pike with hesitations

Optimum wiring for oscillating lures for pike. Seasonal differences in pike fishing

Modern swinging baubles are in the catalogs of all well-known companies. Oscillators are constantly being improved and in no way inferior to other advanced lures. At the right time and right place, these spinners are often more effective than a fashionable jig.

What is the reason for the success of hesitations?

Apparently, the reason for this success is the simplicity of wobble fishing , when a novice angler can catch a pike by barely throwing a spoon in the water. Already at the fall of the bait to the bottom, the bait plays and can cause a predator's grip. Sometimes primitive uniform wiring is most successful. It is clear that an experienced spinning player with his set of secret postings will catch a lot more than a beginner, but all the same hesitators give a chance to His Majesty The case when a large crocodile pike may be tempted by a cheap shopping bauble. With wobblers, this will not work ...

Usually in the box of any spinning player there are small, medium and large oscillating baubles. The former are rarely used specifically for pike fishing. Oscillations differ in weight. For fishing in the water column, on top and for slow wiring, light and medium spinners are used. Posting at the bottom is carried out by baits weighing about 30 grams or more. Here, the light spinner is not able to play during slow wiring, and when it is accelerated, the bait will be thrown to the surface.

Open hook swing and non-hook

Oscillating baits are also divided into open hook lures and unhooked ones. The first are the most common. But they are not suitable for fishing in snags and in the grass. Various non-engaging lures are used here. Hooks alone are protected by elastic spring tendrils, which the pike easily squeezes during grasping and is hooked. But these springs allow the spinners to pass the snag when the bait simply bounces off the bogeys. Sometimes such unhooked glide over the mussel egg capsules and slip through the islands of the hornwort.

Another way to protect the hook is to use silicone slings or twisters on the tee or double. In addition to protection, these replants give the wavering spoons a new character of the game, more slow and peculiar. Often a bargain, it seemed, a bait with a planted twister turns into a catchy bait.

The use of a single rigidly fixed hook in the unhooks is considered the most reliable option, since unhooked ones with doubles or tees loosely mounted on the bait, catch fish worse. And therefore, there are many gatherings of a predator.

Slow wobble

The best option for oscillating spinners is slow wiring. Crossing from side to side, the bait imitates a sick or weakened fish, which the underwater orderly must grab. Even spinners intended for quick wiring should be driven to the limit beyond which the spinners simply stop working. Of course, the boundary of this limit is shifted to the minimum wiring speed.

Uniform and step wiring

Also the main and most common is uniform wiring. It is used during periods when the fish is active, moves a lot and feeds. Time "deafness" makes you look for other options for postings. Step wiring is best known when, after two or three revolutions, the coil is paused. Sometimes, during this pause, the bauble drags along the bottom, and then again a short and energetic winding follows. A jerking technique is also used - twitching. The tip of the rod all the time carries out short twitches with simultaneous wiring. Sometimes this technique makes the most languid pike wake up.

There are seasonal differences in pike fishing

In the spring, stepped wiring is preferred, which takes place in deep places. Here the characters are longer pauses. This is a typical bottom wiring.

In summer, light and medium spinners, working in the middle and upper layers of the water, are more often used. Uniform wiring is most acceptable, and when biting worsens, twitching is used, most often in the upper layers of water. Sluggish nibble can revive the lures of unhooked, if you lead them right along the grass. Falling into the window among the water lilies, these baits provoke a dormant pike here to grip.

In the fall, large and heavy spinners are used for accelerated bottom wiring.
