Jigging perch

Of the variety of lures that different manufacturers offer us, it should be noted, and most fishermen will confidently bring it to the first place, jig bait.

Consider the simplest available lure for jig fishing - foam rubber fish (photo 1). In principle, you can make foam fish yourself. If you are going to catch pike perch, then the length of the foam fish should be from 5 to 10 centimeters. You can choose any color of the bait, it all depends on your creative thought, just don’t forget about the weather conditions when fishing! Therefore, I advise you to make several lures, both light and dark. The hook can be taken both single and double and triple. You can attach the bait by a hinge method. For a sinker, it is more preferable to use “lentils”, such a sinker when falling to the bottom will cause the foam fish to move (about the rules of jig here).

Also quite popular jig baits among anglers are silicone baits (photo 2). Such baits are good in that they allow you to quickly and optimally choose the color of the bait directly at the time of fishing, and also allow you to use different options for the game. It is best to catch active zander on vibro-tails and twisters. As for the color of the silicone bait, it is preferable to use pearly white, lemon yellow or green with sparkles. If you decide to catch pike perch at night, then use the luminous silicone baits.

Summer zander fishing

During summer fishing for pike perch, spinner bates show good results (photo 3). It is advisable to use spinner bates with a small petal, not more than the first number. You can put a foam rubber or vibrotail on his hook. A bait with such a tandem will make even the most passive fish attack.

Zander can also be caught on small jig turntables, here you will learn more about turntables. To ensure that your bait does not cling to obstacles, set an offset hook instead of a tee, along with a foam fish.

Jigging zander in the fall

When fishing for pike perch on a jig in late autumn, fish made from polyurethane foam (jig in autumn) are perfect. When fishing on such a bait, the predator does not attack it during posting, but grabs it from the bottom. This is because the fish made of polyurethane foam are located vertically at the bottom, and sway over the course. Zander grabs such a bait by its tail, so the hook on the bait should be located in the back. The wiring must be shortened, the pause for such wiring should last from 2 to 4 seconds. Zander will have time to attack the bait. And if you are afraid to miss a bite during a pause, then you definitely need to install a jig nod on the spinning.

As well as polyurethane foam fish behaves and vabik made from animal hair. For example, goat hair perfectly holds air bubbles under water. That is why the Wabik also occupies a vertical position at the bottom. A big plus of Wabik is the casting range. Wabiki champions among all jig baits in casting distance.

Features microjig in the fall

Pikeperch can be caught on any of the jig baits if you use stepped wiring. Here the main factor is the time of the step, it should be shortened, that is, the fall time of the bait did not exceed 2 - 4 seconds. Zander will not be able to resist your bait and you will certainly catch it.
