Probably the most among winter anglers. This is a serious, large and careful fish, requiring the application of strength and knowledge. Especially a lot of effort is needed to catch the bream in the middle of winter, in the so-called “deaf” period, when other fish that are more active in winter also become lethargic and bite badly. Especially - bream. But in the spring, everything changes. With the arrival of fresh water under the ice, bream come to life and begin to feed, preparing for spawning. And this time is considered the most successful in bream fishing among the entire ice season. Moreover, fishing on the bream in the spring does not stop at night. Often it is even more successful than day fishing. But night fishing requires some preparation.
The most comfortable night fishing happens in a tent, which has more than one layer of dense material and is heated by gas stove. But here there are some features related to the safety of an overnight stay. Recently in our places there was a tragic incident when dead fishermen were found in a burnt tent. According to some reports, the fishermen were burned at first, and then a fire started in the tent.
To avoid this, you can never close the tent windows tightly, since modern two-layer tents almost do not let in air or carbon monoxide, especially if there is a floor and the tent is also covered with snow on the bottom. In addition, the most safe can be called a tile without open flame. These are usually gas stoves with ceramic hobs. Heats as effectively as ordinary tiles, but the fire is closed by a burner. It is best to purchase a tile that has a fitting for connecting a large gas cylinder so that it is enough for more than one fishing trip.
The dimensions of the bream should be taken into account and an ice drill with a hole diameter of at least 150 mm, and preferably more, should be taken with you.
Fishing for bream with mormyshka and bait
To catch the bream in deep places and with the course where this fish likes to stick, mormyshki are quite massive. And such mormyshki with great weight at the smallest volume include tungsten lures. But their color should not be defiantly bright, and the surface is shiny. Rather, the perch will react and bite than the bream, and especially on a sunny day. Most often, baits that imitate the color of bottom insects are used. Bream mormyshki are usually dark green, gray, black colors. Sometimes old silver lures work well, but only without glitter. The most common size of mormysheks for fishing bream at a depth of five meters is 2.5 millimeters . If there is no current or it is weak, which usually happens on reservoirs, then such a small, but weighty mormyshka will suit most of all. Most often this is a round or pear-shaped bait.
Various cunning mormyshka in the form of a banana or larvae are usually used in fishing for roach. For fishing in places deeper than five meters, baits of 3 millimeters are most suitable. On the deep brow, where the bream is often kept, mormysks of 4-5 millimeters in size are already used. When choosing mormyshki, it should be borne in mind that the bream's lips are weak. A thin, though strong bait hook can cut them, especially when playing large fish.
Even on large bream it is not recommended to equip a fishing rod with a fishing line thicker than 0.11 mm in diameter . The bream thick fishing line, of course, can stand with a margin, but this careful fish is likely to think about approaching the bait. A fishing line with a thickness of 0.1-0.11 mm can easily withstand a bream per kilogram weight, if the fishing line is fresh, and the angler is experienced. The main thing is not to rush things and release the fish with strong jerks, handing over the fishing line without slack. And the role of a thin, durable and sharp hock when it is necessary to get fish out of the hole is very important.
For bream fishing, a traditional bloodworm is used, tied into brushes using a simple device that can even be made from a ballpoint pen cap. The cap is cut to a diameter of 5 mm. Before fishing, rings made of silicone rubber are put on the cap, then several bloodworms are put in the cap and pulled together with an elastic band pulled from the cap.
The nod is usually selected soft, mylar, quite long. Usually, the length of the nod is about 15 cm. Such a nod is needed for a smooth, leisurely play of the bait, to which the bream reacts best.
It is better to use winter bait with the addition of filler from porridge.
