About catching a perch in a float in summer

Tips for successfully catching perch from the shore on a summer day on a river or lake.

You can talk about fishing perch for a long time and endlessly. And in our reviews, we pay a lot of attention to this fish. The thing is that it’s not so difficult to catch a perch, which attracts novice fishermen, secondly, the perch is very tasty in the gastronomic plan, and thirdly - if you manage to hook the humpback, the sensations are indescribable, you will remember for a long time .

Since it’s unrealistic to talk about all the ways in the article, I’ll try to give some advice to novice fishermen who decided to go fishing on the perch from the shore on a river or lake on a summer day. I think that this category of fishermen is the most numerous, since the number of people who like to go out for a perch on the boat is several times smaller (not because this type of fishing is not interesting, but simply because of the labor costs: transportation of the boat, etc.) . A huge niche is spinning, but this is a completely different story, since, along with catching perch on a spinning rod, pike and for those who are keen on spinning often sit down.

So, summer is in the yard, how can I catch perch on a float ">

There is nothing easier. In summer, perch, especially if hot days are established, like any other fish, except, perhaps, the tops, reduce their activity. But, in the morning, in the evening, in the afternoon, if the weather was relatively windy and cloudy, it got a little colder, you can catch perch almost all daylight hours.

The first thing you need to understand is where to look for perch in the summer.

In my practice, I use a simple rule: any difficult place is a potentially perch place. Pits near the shore, slow-flowing areas, washouts, backwaters (about catching perch in backwaters), debris on rivers and lakes, in grass and on the border of aquatic vegetation and clean water, in water lilies, near bridges, in clean areas, if difficult bottom (blockages, stones, fallen trees). I hope, in general, regarding the places it’s clear. Yes, it’s still important to understand: perch often stands under the shore, in small areas, by the grass, waiting for the victim. So, moving with a fishing rod along the shore, you should not immediately cast to the middle of the river, you can start by catching areas near the shore, where the depth does not exceed a meter. By letting the bobber several times in such places, if there was no bite, you can move on. Perch is a bottom inhabitant, so more often monitor the depth.

When fishing from a boat or spinning, sometimes you can get on a teapot (teapot) when the perch takes from the surface, but when fishing on a float, nevertheless, they often set the depth “from the bottom”. In 99% of cases, an ordinary worm is used as bait, and if it was possible to find a perch, then several fish can actually be pulled out from one place, as perch is a schooling fish. An interesting fact: if the perch attacking the bait is broken, it can easily take a second time, so don’t “bother” on the shore for a long time if the bite has gone, and immediately send the float back to the bite place. Pecking a perch clearly and eagerly, leading away and drowning the float, do not miss. But you shouldn’t do a very sharp cutting, as you can easily break the lips of a perch with a strong jerk.

As for the gear, everything is simple - the usual float gear

The only thing is that I put only one hook, without a leash, and I try to place the sinker no further than a dozen centimeters from the hook. In my practice, I select the load in such a way as to use no more than 2-3 grains, sometimes I put an olive. But, here is the business of an amateur. Perch is not so demanding on gear. I use fishing line no thicker than 0.2 mm. Someone will say that this is too coarse tackle. It is possible, but considering what you have to catch in difficult places, this is sometimes justified, and perch is not so shy. Of the features, when fishing for perch, you can play along with tackle, “move” the hook, and if you can create turbidity, this is generally good, as perch often goes upstream to the source of turbidity (this is due to a good nibble on the beaches).

And most importantly in perch fishing - you have to walk a lot in order to find a flock

Here the quantity and quality of the catch directly depends on the distance traveled along the coast. Do not be lazy, and the result will not disappoint you.

As you can see, there is nothing complicated at all, as is sometimes written about in some clever treatises. Going just for the perch is a fascinating and rather simple fishing, although you will be provided with physical activity.

Good luck and all the best.
